Pakistan warns India of ‘Debris and Destruction’ After New Delhi’s Tough Military Statements

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Sunday warned India that it would be “buried under the debris of its planes” in response to recent remarks by Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, who had stated that Pakistan risked being “erased from the map” if it continued to back terrorism.

Reacting sharply, Asif accused India’s military and political leadership of attempting to “restore their tarnished reputation” following what he described as a humiliating defeat during Operation Sindoor. “After a decisive 0-6 setback, if they try again, the result, God willing, will be far better than before,” Asif said in a post on X.

Reasserting Pakistan’s earlier claim of having shot down six Indian jets during the May operation an assertion India denies Asif referred to Pakistani forces as “Allah’s soldiers” and warned that India would be “buried in the debris of its own planes.” He further alleged that India’s leadership had lost credibility after “the worst defeat in history,” adding that any fresh confrontation would lead to India’s downfall.

India’s sharp warning to Pakistan
General Dwivedi had said on Friday that Pakistan must end its support for terrorism “if it wants to stay on the world map.” A day earlier, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh declared that India “can cross any border whenever necessary” to defend national interests.

The Indian Army Chief also cautioned that the restraint shown by New Delhi during Operation Sindoor would not be repeated in a future conflict and urged troops to stay combat-ready. Meanwhile, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh claimed that India’s airstrikes in May had destroyed or damaged “at least a dozen” Pakistani military aircraft, including U.S.-made F-16s, in retaliation for the terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir.

Pakistan Army calls Indian remarks ‘provocative’
Responding to these statements, the Pakistan Army on Saturday issued a statement, reported by news agency PTI, calling the Indian leaders’ comments “delusional, provocative, and jingoistic.”

“In the face of highly provocative statements from the Indian Defence Minister and its Army and Air Chiefs, we caution that a future conflict might lead to cataclysmic devastation,” the Pakistan Army said. “If new hostilities are triggered, Pakistan shall not hold back. We shall respond resolutely, without any qualms or restraint.”
