Bilaspur : At least six people were killed and several others injured after a passenger train collided with a goods train in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur district on Tuesday. The collision was so strong that some coaches climbed over each other, triggering panic among passengers and locals nearby.
The accident derailed multiple coaches, and the impact severely damaged the overhead wires and signalling system, disrupting train operations on the route. Sources said the preliminary probe suggests that the accident occurred after the MEMU local train overshot a signal and rammed into the rear of a stationary goods train.
