Pakistan Backed Lashkar Terrorist Killed In J&K

Yasir, a Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba commander, was killed on Saturday in a confrontation with joint security forces in the upper reaches of Yousmarg in the Budgam region of central Kashmir, according to sources.

After receiving information regarding the presence of terrorists, combined forces initiated an intelligence-based search operation in the region, which resulted in the gunfight. Together, the Special Forces and 53 Rashtriya Rifles carried out the operation, engaging the militants in gunfire.

Sources claim that Yasir belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba’s larger Sulaiman Musa group. But he had left the organization almost a year ago and had been working independently ever since.

For a short while, security services had been following him about and keeping an eye on his actions in the Yousmarg area. According to additional sources, Yasir had become an important Lashkar agent in the region after splitting from the group.

Security forces had initiated the search operation due to his presence in Yousmarg’s upper reaches, which ultimately led to the incident.

As security personnel continue to step up counterterrorism efforts in Jammu and Kashmir, the most recent encounter occurred in Yousmarg.

Agencies are currently investigating Yasir’s network, his connections to other Lashkar-e-Taiba members, and the scope of his activity in the area in the wake of his murder.

Additionally, security services are looking into Yasir’s possible involvement in the planning, facilitation, or support of recent acts of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.

One of the masterminds of the terrorist attack in Pahalgham in 2025 was Sulaiman Musa, also known as Hashim Moosa.

A few months after the attack, Moosa was shot and killed by Indian security personnel during a confrontation in Srinagar’s Dachigam woodland.
