Due to the resurgence of monsoon activity, Mumbai has been experiencing moderate rainfall for the second day in a row, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to increase its weather warning. The weather service has issued an orange alert for Mumbai and the nearby districts of Thane and Raigad until Wednesday morning due to the forecast of heavy rainfall starting on Tuesday, July 21.
Rain is expected to cause disruptions in Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad through Wednesday morning under the orange advisory, according to the IMD. Heavy showers are predicted to persist over the three districts until Saturday, even though the alert level is anticipated to be reduced to yellow after that.
The next high tide in Mumbai is predicted to occur on July 21 at 4:53 p.m. with a height of 3.64 meters, followed by a low tide at 11:17 p.m. with a height of 1.49 meters, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Another high tide of 3.27 meters is predicted for the city on July 22 at 5:57 am, and a low tide of 2.53 meters is anticipated at 11:44 am.
After intense rains in Mumbai and North Konkan during the first week of July, there was a break in the rainfall. Several places had experienced waterlogging as a result of that spell. Agricultural activities were postponed and the temperature rose as a result of the subsequent break in rainfall. The return of precipitation has brought relief to farmers.
A 24-hour high tide signal has been issued for the Maharashtra coast by the State Disaster Management Department. Coastal residents and fishermen have been cautioned to exercise caution. Fishermen have been cautioned not to venture into deep water despite the fact that a low-intensity earthquake in the Arabian water has not produced any maritime hazards. Onshore fishing gear, trawlers, and vessels should all be securely fastened.
Residents are encouraged to exercise caution during high tide hours as waterlogging is likely in low-lying areas due to the IMD’s forecast of heavy rainfall across the city.
It has been recommended that locals, visitors, and kids stay away from rocky areas and beaches. The local fisheries department, coastal administration, and meteorological department have encouraged the public to follow their updates.

For Sunday, July 25, 2026, the India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow advisory for heavy rainfall in the districts of Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and Raigad. In the Palghar area, thunderstorms with lightning and strong gusts are predicted.
