Mumbai Weather Update: AQI Improves To 30 As Gamdevi, Bandra Record Cleanest Air

Mumbai: Financial Capital woke up to bright blue skies and noticeably cleaner air on Monday morning, offering residents relief after weeks of fluctuating pollution levels. The city recorded a significant improvement in air quality, with the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) standing at 30, placing it firmly in the ‘good’ category.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), weather conditions across Mumbai are expected to remain hot and humid throughout the day. Temperatures are likely to range between 28 degrees Celsius and 34 degrees Celsius, while the morning temperature was recorded at around 29 degrees Celsius.

Air quality data released on Monday highlighted a continuing trend of cleaner air across the financial capital. Among the cleanest locations in the city, Gamdevi recorded an AQI of 12, while Bandra also reported remarkably low pollution levels. Several parts of South Mumbai experienced fresh and breezy conditions alongside the improved air quality.

Despite persistent heat and humidity in recent weeks, the improved AQI brought some comfort to residents. Mumbai has largely maintained ‘good’ to ‘moderate’ air quality levels in recent weeks following stricter measures against dust pollution and construction-related emissions.

As per standard AQI classifications, readings between 0 and 50 are considered ‘good’, while levels from 51 to 100 fall under the ‘moderate’ category. The city’s latest AQI reading of 30 marked one of the cleanest air quality days witnessed in recent months.
