Mumbai Weather: IMD Warns of Rising Temperatures Across City

Mumbai is grappling with increasingly hot and humid conditions as March 10 unfolds, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) reporting a steady climb in temperatures across the city. The maximum temperature is projected to hover between 37°C and 38°C, while the minimum is expected to remain around 24°C, accompanied by predominantly clear skies.

According to IMD officials, strong sunshine combined with dry atmospheric patterns is fueling the escalation in heat. Limited cloud cover, paired with persistent coastal humidity, is making the afternoons particularly uncomfortable, amplifying the perceived warmth in various parts of the metropolis.

The IMD has cautioned that isolated areas of Mumbai and surrounding regions could see heatwave-like conditions. Monitoring stations have already logged temperatures unusually high for this early stage of March, pointing to an accelerated onset of summer-like weather this year.

In the coming days, similar warm and dry weather is anticipated to continue in Mumbai. Forecasts indicate mostly clear skies with sustained high humidity along the coast, though temperatures may moderate slightly after March 11. Residents are likely to face ongoing discomfort due to these persistent conditions.

The IMD’s observations highlight how dry north-easterly winds and other meteorological factors are contributing to this early warmth, affecting daily life in the financial capital. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, with no immediate relief from significant clouding or rainfall expected in the short term.
