Maharashtra Weather Update: Rain Alert for Mumbai, Pune, Marathwada

Mumbai: Several parts of Maharashtra are expected to witness a shift in weather conditions, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting rainfall, rising humidity, and thunderstorm activity across key regions, including Mumbai, Pune, and Marathwada. According to a report by Times Now Hindi, the weather department has issued alerts as atmospheric changes begin to impact the state.
The IMD has indicated that light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely over the next few days. Coastal areas such as Mumbai and nearby districts may experience brief spells of rain along with increased humidity levels, creating discomfort for residents.
In Pune and surrounding regions, cloud cover is expected to increase, with possibilities of light rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. Authorities have already issued alerts warning of sudden weather changes, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours.
Marathwada and other interior parts of the state could also witness similar conditions, including scattered rainfall and lightning. In some areas, stronger weather activity such as gusty winds and isolated hailstorms cannot be ruled out, as per IMD forecasts cited in the report.
The changing weather is being attributed to pre-monsoon atmospheric developments, which often bring a mix of heat, humidity, and sporadic rainfall during April. While the showers may offer temporary relief from high temperatures, the accompanying humidity is likely to increase discomfort levels for residents.
As per Times Now Hindi, officials have advised people to remain cautious, especially during thunderstorms and lightning activity. The IMD continues to monitor the evolving conditions and has urged citizens to stay updated with the latest forecasts and warnings.
