Navi Mumbai to Face 12-Hour Water Cut on April 22

Residents of Navi Mumbai are set to experience a 12-hour disruption in water supply on Wednesday, April 22, as announced by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC).

The civic body stated that the temporary shutdown is necessary to carry out essential infrastructure upgrades and pipeline-related works across multiple locations in the city. Water supply will remain suspended from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm on the scheduled day, impacting several residential and commercial areas under NMMC jurisdiction.

As part of the planned maintenance, authorities will undertake the installation of a manifold and valves at the CBD Belapur pump house located in Sector 28. Additional valve installation work is scheduled at Kalamboli Circle and Nerul’s Sector 19 near Wonder Park. Furthermore, a significant pipeline connection involving a 900 mm diameter water line will be carried out in Ghansoli’s Sector 2.

Due to these activities, major nodes including Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, Turbhe, Sanpada, Koparkhairane, Ghansoli, and Airoli are expected to face a complete halt in water supply during the 12-hour window. Areas with direct water connections as well as CIDCO-developed nodes such as Kharghar and Kamothe will also be affected by the disruption.

The NMMC has cautioned that once the supply resumes, residents may experience low water pressure and reduced availability, particularly on the following day. As a result, citizens are advised to store sufficient water in advance and use it judiciously during the disruption period.

The civic administration emphasized that the maintenance work is critical for strengthening the city’s water supply infrastructure and ensuring smoother distribution in the future. Officials have urged residents to cooperate during the process, noting that such temporary inconveniences are necessary to support long-term improvements in the system.

The announcement comes as part of ongoing efforts by the municipal body to upgrade essential services and address the growing demand for reliable water supply across Navi Mumbai.
