SpiceJet Steps In with Extra Mumbai Flights to Ease IndiGo Chaos on December 6

Mumbai – In response to extensive disruptions plaguing IndiGo’s schedule, SpiceJet has ramped up its flight offerings from Mumbai on Saturday, introducing extra services on key domestic and international paths to assist affected passengers.
The low-cost carrier posted the announcement on X early in the day, stating, “We have added more Mumbai departures for 6 December for your convenience.” The post included a detailed rundown of the bolstered routes, spanning destinations like Delhi, Jaipur, Chennai, Dubai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Ayodhya, Goa, Patna, Pune, Udaipur, Varanasi, Ahmedabad, and several more.
SpiceJet’s enhancements focus on bolstering connectivity from Maharashtra’s commercial hub. To the Delhi-NCR area, the airline slotted in six extra flights. Rajasthan-bound travelers gain three additional Mumbai-Jaipur links, while a single new service to Udaipur takes off at 8:55 a.m., landing at 10:20 a.m.
Southern routes see three new Mumbai-Chennai departures for Tamil Nadu. In Uttar Pradesh, four flights will operate across various paths. West Bengal connections include three flights, with services arriving in Kolkata and Bagdogra.

Karnataka travelers benefit from two added Mumbai-Bengaluru flights, and a lone service links Mumbai to Calicut in Kerala. Goa gets one evening departure from Mumbai. Bihar routes feature three flights: to Patna, Darbhanga with a stopover to Gorakhpur, and Bagdogra for onward access to North Bengal and nearby Bihar areas.
Gujarat’s Ahmedabad receives one evening flight from Mumbai. Internationally, two more Mumbai-Dubai services support the UAE link.
This move builds on SpiceJet’s broader support efforts. On Friday, Chairman and Managing Director Ajay Singh emphasized the airline’s commitment, noting it would operate 100 extra flights in the coming days to counter the IndiGo turmoil. Singh described the situation as “extremely unfortunate” and a major hassle for flyers.
The IndiGo issues stem from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) enforcing its Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) regulations, prompting a slew of nationwide delays and cancellations that have rippled through operations and stranded passengers in multiple regions.
