Mumbai: Two school students drowned to death after going to swim in a water tank located near Modern Bakery Junction, Gautam Nagar, in the Aarey Colony area of Goregaon (East). The incident occurred on Friday afternoon.
According to information received, the tragedy took place near Modern Bakery Junction at Gautam Nagar in Aarey Colony, Goregaon East. As soon as it was learnt that the two children had drowned in the water tank, the Mumbai Fire Brigade reached the spot and pulled them out. They were subsequently admitted to Trauma Care Hospital in Jogeshwari, where the medical officer on duty declared both students dead.

The deceased have been identified as 15-year-old Zaib Patel and 13-year-old Nakhib Khan.
Zaib was a student of the 10th standard, while Nakhib was studying in the 9th standard. Both were students at Gunfa English Secondary School in Jogeshwari. The school’s principal stated that both students had been absent from school on the day of the incident.
