Six Dead In Mississippi Shooting Rampage; Suspect In Custody, No Ongoing Threat

Authorities reported at least six fatalities from a string of shootings that erupted across eastern Mississippi in the United States on Saturday, January 10. Law enforcement has detained a suspect, confirming the community faces no further danger.

Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott shared on Facebook that the violence claimed multiple innocent lives in West Point, a town near the Alabama border. “A suspect has been taken into custody, and there is no threat to the community,” he posted.

He urged the public to pray for the victims and their families, adding that investigators are working diligently and will share updates soon.
