Over 9 Killed And More Than 20 Injured In Suicide Bombing At ‘Peace Rally’ In Pakistan

An explosion that targeted Pakistani police officers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province today resulted in nine fatalities and twenty injuries. On social media, images of the explosion have appeared. The explosion occurred at a “peace rally” in a Swat district town. Although there is currently no official confirmation, the explosion appeared to be a suicide attempt, according to news agency PTI.
Participants at the rally, which was organized by the local tribal council Swat Aman Jirga, carried placards and chanted slogans calling for peace in the region, where the security situation has worsened in recent months.
Police and other law enforcement officers sealed off the area as rescue crews transported the injured to local hospitals.
