New Delhi : US President Donald Trump on Monday issued a sharp warning to Iran, claiming that a “massive Armada” led by the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln is moving towards the country. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the fleet was larger than the one earlier sent to Venezuela and was moving “quickly, with great power, enthusiasm, and purpose.”
Trump wrote, “As I told Iran once before, MAKE A DEAL! They didn’t, and there was ‘Operation Midnight Hammer,’ a major destruction of Iran.” He warned that any future attack would be “far worse” and urged Tehran not to let that happen. Hopefully Iran will quickly ‘Come to the Table’ and negotiate,” Trump said, ending his message with, “Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
The exercises are additionally aimed at demonstrating US Central Command’s credible, combat-ready, and responsible presence designed to deter aggression, reduce the risk of miscalculation, and assure partners. US Central Command’s announcement followed a Sunday meeting between US Central Command head Admiral Brad Cooper and IDF Chief of Staff Lt Gen. Eyal Zamir aimed at “strengthening the defensive cooperation between the two states.
A US source confirmed to The Jerusalem Post that the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group had arrived in CENTCOM waters in the Indian Ocean. US media reported that the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group had been redirected from exercises in the South China Sea to the Middle East. Trump described the deployment as a “massive fleet” but said it might not need to be used.
