Dubai : Residents in Dubai were in complete panic as they received alerts on their phones about a possible missile attack on Friday. Residents have been warned against venturing outdoors, be prepared for any situation and act with caution. We got four back-to-back alerts on the phone. We have stocked up on essentials and kept a bag ready with all important documents, including passports, in case of any emergency, a Dubai resident told media.

Iranian attack on Gulf countries, air travel across the Middle East has been severely disrupted following a rapidly escalating conflict triggered by coordinated airstrikes by Israel and the US that killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The developments have led to widespread airspace closures and travel chaos across the region. Dubai, home to one of the world’s busiest international airports and a key global transit hub, has been among the cities affected as tensions intensified following Iran’s retaliation to the joint offensive.

The United Arab Emirates has denied a media report claiming it was considering joining the United States and Israel in military strikes against Iran. The UAE issued a statement through its state news agency, Emirates News Agency (WAM), asserting that it has not taken any decision to alter its defensive posture in response to the repeated Iranian attacks.

Among the locations reportedly hit were the US consulate in Dubai and the Al Dhafra Air Base in Abu Dhabi, following US-Israeli strikes on the Islamic Republic that began on February 28. Tensions have been sky-high in the Middle East since February 28 when the US and Israel joint military strikes against Iran to restrict it from building a nuclear arsenal of its own. Tehran launched a barrage of missiles on several neighbouring countries housing US bases, raising global security concerns.
