“Any Help”: EAM Jaishankar Says India Ready To Help End Russia-Ukraine War

India is prepared to assist in bringing an end to the conflict in Ukraine, according to Union External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar. During his visit to Kyiv on Thursday, the external affairs minister told reporters that India is prepared to mediate if necessary.

“If India can be of any help, in any manner, we are there,” Jaishankar said beside Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, according to news agency Reuters.

He also mentioned that the two ministers had addressed attacks on commercial ships in the Black Sea.

Right now, EAM Jaishankar is visiting Ukraine. He will have bilateral meetings with Polish Deputy Prime Minister Radoslaw Sikorski and his Ukrainian colleague Andrii Sybiha during this time, according to the Ministry of External Affairs.

“The visit will focus on enhancing bilateral relations and also provide an opportunity to exchange views on regional developments and issues of mutual interest,” stated the official announcement.

This visit also follows the recent escalation between Russia and Ukraine in the Black Sea, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of Indian seamen.

New Delhi has advocated for a diplomatic and dialogue-based solution to the fighting while reiterating the safety of Indians and other mariners.
