New Delhi : For Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, negligence at work is ‘unacceptable’. A video has surfaced on social media, showing CM Rekha Gupta scolding senior government officials over an alleged delay in some work. Although the context remained unclear — why Gupta lost her temper and whether it was directly connected to the rescue work — many on social media connected the two dots and said that she was unhappy with the systematic negligence.
The angry Chief Minister was heard saying, “There’s a limit to everything. I have been providing you with a Rs 800 crore fund for the past two years. Where are all the funds going? Is this money going into your pocket?” Although the conversation did not disclose what exactly angered Gupta, it seemed that she was unhappy with fixing some slabs in an area. As a result, she ended up losing her temper with the two officials.
Such careless and negligent officers need to be held accountable.

One of the users wrote on X that it needs to be seen whether Gupta’s lecture changes anything for the government officials. “Rekha Gupta is angrily giving the officers a thorough scolding. Let’s see what effect the Chief Minister’s scolding has,” she wrote. “Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta corners civic engineers and officials right on the ground over shoddy work and endless delays. When officials started begging for ‘one more week,’ she shut them down with a hard 24-hour deadline, demanding photo proof of the fixed slabs by tomorrow.
“Delhi CM Rekha Gupta’s angry video is going viral… In the video, Rekha Gupta is reprimanding the officers… shouting… It’s essential to bring these arrogant officers back in line with a good scolding… Otherwise, due to the system’s negligence, the lights of many families will keep getting extinguished just like this,” he wrote. Although the reason for Gupta’s anger remains unclear, the video has since sparked a debate on social media about how government officials respond to delays and lapses in civic work.
