In Madhapur, Hyderabad, an under-construction building collapsed on Saturday, killing two people and injuring numerous more. Rescue workers are trying to remove the debris and free others trapped beneath it.
“An under-construction seven-story building collapsed in Anjaiah Nagar,” the statement reads. “The building gave way suddenly, prompting an emergency response involving local police and rescue personnel.” Two people have died thus far. The rescue operation is underway, rubble is being cleared, and rescue crews have arrived at the location. A police spokesman told news agency ANI, “We will give additional information later.
Arekapudi Gandhi, a Congress MLA, said that the structure had been inspected prior to the collapse and lacked the necessary clearances. “For four months, officials in the Madhapur division halted construction of an illegal seven-story structure. Recently, they illegally resumed building. Gandhi informed ANI that the seven-story building’s abrupt collapse was caused by the subterranean construction being extended to the building next to it.
“People need to be aware of the dangers associated with illicit construction. These illicit buildings are making money for some people. In Serilingampally, numerous unlawful construction projects are underway. Buildings are being seized, yet they are not according to the rules. He continued, “A similar situation has previously occurred, and now it has happened again.
Rescue efforts are still in progress.
