Vijayawada : Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council got adjourned on Friday due to massive uproar between the opposition party members and treasury benches. The conversation got heated up after YSRCP members showed placards of their deity Sri Venkateswara Swamy with their scandals on.
What Happened?
The disorder unfolded after Legislative Council Chairman Koyye Moshen Raju dismissed a plea for open discussion on Tirupati laddu prasadam and Indapur dairy requested by Kumba Ravi Babu, D Madhava Rao and S Mangamma. It is allegedly to have connection with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s family owned firm heritage foods, that supplies ghee to TTD.
Visuals showed members of the opposition gathered with placards in the House’s well. “The way they are handling the pictures of Venkateswara Swamy, Chairman sir. Are they dignified? Will they bring God into the political sphere? P Keshav, the finance minister for Andhra, stated.
Such an event has “not happened in the history of the country,” he continued. “They (YSRCP MLCs) lack fear of God, respect for God, and confidence in God. Simply following their boss Jagan’s instructions,” Keshav remarked.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the leader of the YSRCP, asserted on Thursday that Naidu was against a conversation over Indapur Dairy. He noted that after a dispute over its purported affiliation with Heritage and ghee delivery to the TTD, Indapur Dairy was renamed as a co-manufacturing site five days after it was first formally designated as Heritage as its manufacturing unit till February 10.
The YSRCP leaders’ association of Heritage with the Tirupati laddu controversy infuriated the Chief Minister last week. “I am unable to comprehend. What Heritage has to do with it is beyond me. Heritage has not yet requested funding from the government. “I won’t ask again in the future,” Naidu declared.
Naidu accused YSRCP leaders of harming Heritage Foods’ reputation in order to generate losses, referring to it as a “family business for livelihood” managed by professionals.
As opposition members continued to yell slogans, the House was adjourned for the day due to the ongoing disorder.
