Thunderstorms Lash Delhi-NCR, Offer Brief Relief as Capital Inches Toward 40°C

Parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region were hit by thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds on Friday, giving residents a much-needed break from the relentless heat as temperatures in the capital approach 40 degrees Celsius.

The India Meteorological Department had issued a yellow alert for Delhi earlier in the day, forecasting thunderstorms with light rain. The IMD’s Nowcast warning extended the yellow alert across all districts in the capital, cautioning residents of light rain and thunderstorm activity through Friday evening.
