Pakistani Terrorist Neutralized in Overnight Operation in J&K’s Uri Sector
In a swift joint operation, Indian Army troops and Jammu and Kashmir Police eliminated a Pakistani terrorist in the Buchhar area of the Uri sector, successfully thwarting an attempted infiltration across the Line of Control.
The operation unfolded on the intervening night of March 14 and 15, based on precise intelligence provided by the J&K Police indicating a likely infiltration bid in the region. According to an official statement from the Army, troops stationed in the area detected suspicious movement within a dense thicket. They promptly adjusted their ambush position to intercept the individual.
When security forces challenged the suspect, the terrorist responded by opening indiscriminate fire, leading to a brief but intense exchange of gunfire. In the ensuing contact, the infiltrator—a Pakistani national—was killed, as confirmed by the Army.
Security personnel recovered a cache of warlike stores from the encounter site, including an AK rifle, pistols, and a substantial quantity of ammunition. Officials emphasized that the operation remains ongoing, with a thorough search of the surrounding area underway to confirm no additional militants are present in the vicinity.
