In a startling development in the Pune fort death investigation, authorities have uncovered evidence suggesting that a young woman named Siya Goyal secretly wed her boyfriend several months before her engagement to another man, whose fatal fall from a historic site is now under scrutiny as a possible murder.
Goyal, aged 20, had been engaged in February to 25-year-old Ketan Agarwal, a realtor from Pune, with their wedding planned for November. However, on June 18, Agarwal plunged to his death at Lohagad fort. Investigators allege that Goyal played a central role in a conspiracy to eliminate him, driven by her reluctance to proceed with the marriage.
Police sources indicate that Goyal had already entered into a clandestine marriage with her lover, Chetan Chaudhary, approximately four months prior to the incident. The couple reportedly exchanged vows at a local registrar’s office. Officials are now examining whether the union was formally registered under the Special Marriage Act, which could render Goyal’s engagement to Agarwal legally invalid.
As part of the ongoing probe, authorities are questioning two of Goyal’s college friends who are believed to have served as witnesses to the secret ceremony. Technical teams are also working to retrieve deleted photographs from a private Instagram account. These images allegedly depict Goyal and Chaudhary wearing traditional wedding garlands, providing potential visual confirmation of their union.

Both Goyal and Chaudhary are currently in judicial custody as the case continues to unfold. The Pune Rural Police are treating the secret marriage as a pivotal element that could shed new light on the motives behind Agarwal’s death.
