TV Actor Sanchita Ugale’s Brother Claims Casting Agents Harassed Her

Television actor Sanchita Ugale, aged 22, was found dead at her residence in Nalasopara East on June 14. Family members immediately took her to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead upon arrival.

Her brother, Akash Satish Ugale, has raised serious concerns about the circumstances leading to her death. He has alleged that individuals connected to the casting side of the entertainment industry subjected her to mental harassment in the period before she passed away. According to Akash, he discovered an Instagram reel that paired footage related to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death with his sister’s profile picture, an incident that deeply disturbed him.

Speaking about the matter, Akash noted that conversations with Sanchita’s friends revealed instances of harassment from casting-related contacts, which had left her visibly upset. He drew parallels to the well-known case of Sushant Singh Rajput, who died by suicide on June 14, 2020, at his Bandra residence. Investigations at the time determined the cause as suicide, with reports linking it to intense professional pressures within the industry.

Akash emphasized how demanding the entertainment world can be, describing it as an environment capable of exerting overwhelming pressure on individuals. He suggested that such dynamics, involving influential figures, can create intimidating conditions that impact mental well-being. In light of these claims, he has called for a comprehensive investigation to examine the events surrounding his sister’s death.

Authorities have initiated proceedings following a complaint from Sanchita’s father, Machhindra Ugale. Police registered an Accidental Death Report under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita. Officials have stated that they are looking into all possible aspects of the case, with the inquiry still underway.
