Mumbai: Reality TV star Sorab Bedi, known for his stint on MTV Splitsvilla X6, has finally addressed the swirling dating rumours linking him to Bollywood actress Malaika Arora. The speculation ignited after a video of the two dancing and enjoying themselves at a lively party went viral on social media, prompting fans and netizens to assume a romantic connection.

The clip, captured at the launch event of Malaika’s new restaurant Sweeney in Mumbai, showed the duo grooving together on the dance floor, laughing and sharing easy camaraderie. Social media quickly buzzed with comments speculating about a possible new romance for Malaika, especially following her high-profile breakup with actor Arjun Kapoor in 2024 and subsequent link-ups with others like diamond merchant Harsh Mehta.

In recent interviews with outlets like Zoom, Pinkvilla, and others, Sorab firmly shut down the gossip. He clarified that their bond is purely platonic and rooted in longstanding friendship. “Delnaz Daruwala and Vahbiz Mehta gave me a chance to walk the ramp during my modelling days. I became friends with them and started going out for parties. At one of the parties, I met Malaika through my mentors. She is also a close friend of Delnaz and Vahbiz. Hence, Malaika and I became friends. There is nothing between us,” Sorab explained.

He emphasized that this wasn’t their first time partying together, adding, “I didn’t party with her for the first time.” Sorab expressed disappointment over the assumptions and the “several things” people were saying online. The actor highlighted how past photos with Malaika went unnoticed when he was less famous, but his recent rise in visibility amplified the buzz this time.
