‘Hanuman Ansh’ Goes From Rs 10 Lakh Opening To Rs 61 Crore Hit: What’s Behind The Film’s Stunning Box-Office Run?
New Delhi: It looked like Hanuman Ansh was heading for a quiet run when the film opened in theatres on August 7 with just rs 10 lakh. Nearly four weeks later, the film has turned that slow start completely on its head.
The spiritual drama has collected around rs 61.38 crore net in India in 27 days, while its domestic gross has reached approximately rs 72.32 crore. The film is now set for a worldwide release on September 11, giving its surprise success another chance to grow.
What makes the turnaround even more surprising is how slowly the film began. Hanuman Ansh earned only about rs 1.48 crore in its first two weeks. But things changed in the third week as audiences began recommending the film to others. The response gathered momentum, and the film started seeing much stronger numbers even after several weeks in theatres.
On Day 26, the film reportedly earned rs 8.50 crore, followed by another rs 7.25 crore on Day 27. For a film that started with rs 10 lakh, those numbers are remarkable.
The film is based on the life and spiritual teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, also known as Maharaj ji. It has been written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, with Shobhinaw Satyaa, Chandan Anand, Purnima Tiwari, Anil Rastogi and Gulshan Pandey among the cast.
Another reason the film’s box-office performance has attracted attention is its reported budget of only around rs 2 crore. Unlike the big releases that arrive with major stars, huge promotions and massive opening day expectations, Hanuman Ansh appears to have grown largely through audience word of mouth.
The film has also found support from actress Kangana Ranaut, who praised it and spoke about its spiritual impact. Meanwhile, director Vishal Chaturvedi has confirmed that a sequel is being planned.
Now the makers are taking the film beyond India. With the September 11 global release, audiences overseas will get an opportunity to discover the film that has quietly become one of 2026’s most unexpected theatrical success stories.
Hanuman Ansh may not have started with a bang, but its journey from rs 10 lakh on opening day to more than rs 61 crore in India is a reminder that sometimes a film simply needs time and the audience’s word to find its way.
