Model and social media influencer Shraddha Dubey, the prime accused in the death of Lucknow businessman Shiva Sharma, has been arrested in Nagpur along with two others.
Dubey was taken into custody in a joint operation involving the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force’s Varanasi unit, a team from the Lucknow Commissionerate and Nagpur police. Her sister Rashmi Dubey and their driver Tanveer Ali, also known as Danish, were arrested with her.
Police said Dubey had been changing locations to evade arrest since the incident. She and the others had been absconding, with earlier leads pointing toward possible movement near the India-Nepal border. Non-bailable warrants had been issued and rewards announced for information leading to their arrest.
Shiva Sharma, a 28-year-old businessman who ran eateries in Lucknow, died on the night of October 9 after falling from the fourth floor of an apartment in the Hazratganj area. His mother alleged that he was pushed and lodged a murder complaint. A case was registered against Dubey, who had been in a relationship with Sharma, her sister, the driver and two others.
While on the run, Dubey had released videos denying the murder allegations and claiming that Sharma died by suicide. The circumstances of his death remain under investigation.
