In the Monsoon Session, which started on Monday (July 20, 2026), Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited Members of Parliament to participate in courteous and knowledgeable discussion with a common commitment to the nation’s advancement.
PM Modi made reference to the innovators at Indian firm Skyroot Aerospace in a subtle jab at Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. He said that the company’s team, whose average age is 28, had taken India’s flag to space.
“I’m not referring to a 56-year-old “youngster.” PM Modi remarked, “I am talking about a startup, the young people with an average age of 28 who have planted India’s flag in space. These are the kinds of achievements that fill India with immense pride.”
Such private sector projects are quite rare in the world. He declared, “It is a huge success that India’s youth have really reached new heights in the space sector.”
The Vikram-1 rocket, which was built by Skyroot, took off from ISRO’s First Launch Pad in Sriharikota on July 18 and put its payloads in an orbit roughly 450 kilometers above the Earth, making India the third nation after China and the United States whose private sector has proven capable of doing so.
According to the prime minister, India has accomplished a number of significant milestones in the last month that have improved its reputation and status internationally.
He noted that one Indian citizen had arrived at the International Space Station prior to last year’s Monsoon Session and that India’s growing presence in space reflected the talent, aspirations, and boundless potential of the nation’s youth.
According to PM Modi, the government’s reform-driven strategy has made it possible for young businesspeople to take risks and be successful.
The Prime Minister listed additional significant milestones, including the commissioning of India’s third semiconductor facility, the launch of a green hydrogen-powered train, and the dedication of an oil refinery in Rajasthan.
PM Modi attributed the accomplishments to India’s scientists, inventors, engineers, businesspeople, and laborers, saying that their combined efforts are propelling the nation’s advancement in all areas.
He said that despite disruptions to the supply of gasoline, diesel, LPG, and other commodities brought on by the conflicts in West Asia, India continued to be the world’s fastest-growing major economy, with a GDP growth rate of 7.7%.
PM Modi emphasized that all points of view should be respected and that conversations should be guided by facts and reason.
According to him, Parliament plays a crucial role in giving India new momentum through productive discussions as the country accelerates its growth. In order to address the nation’s expectations, he urged cross-party cooperation and contributions from seasoned MPs.
