
A woman in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, has been accused of mixing a sedative into her husband’s coffee and then attacking him with a knife after suspecting him of an extramarital affair.
The incident occurred on October 8 in the Zaid Garden area under the Lisadi Gate police station. According to the husband’s complaint, an argument arose over his alleged relationship with another woman. The couple has no children, and the wife reportedly believed he was planning to marry someone else.
Following the argument, the woman is alleged to have mixed a sedative into his coffee and given it to him. Once he lost consciousness, she reportedly used a knife to inflict multiple injuries on his private parts.
The man’s mother and sister heard his cries and rushed to the scene, but the woman had already left the house. Family members then took him to hospital, where doctors performed surgery to control the bleeding and are working to repair the injured area. He sustained serious injuries.
The husband has filed a written complaint against his wife. Police have taken the woman into custody and are questioning her. A case has been registered, and the investigation is continuing.
Circle Officer Kotwali Sangram Singh confirmed that the attack took place after the woman suspected her husband of having an affair. Further action will be based on the findings of the probe.
