Tehran : Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held another phone conversation with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to discuss regional and international developments. Araghchi briefed Jaishankar on the latest situation following what Iran described as US and Israeli attacks and their impact on regional and global stability, while also calling for greater cooperation from Brics nations, Tehran said.

Jaishankar, for his part, said India is ready to expand bilateral and multilateral cooperation in regional and international forums and emphasised the need to strengthen lasting stability and security in the region, Tehran added.
Had another conversation with Iranian FM Abbas Araghchi yesterday night. Discussed bilateral matters as also Brics related issues, Jaishankar said. Both leaders held another detailed conversation on March 10. The foreign ministers of Iran and India also discussed the consequences of the US and Israeli regime’s military aggression on the security of shipping and vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, an earlier readout said.
“A detailed conversation this evening with Foreign Minister @araghchi of Iran on the latest developments regarding the ongoing conflict. We agreed to remain in touch,” Jaishankar said on social media following his talks with the Iranian foreign minister. It was the first phone conversation between the two foreign ministers after Iran announced the appointment of Mojtaba Khamenei as the country’s new Supreme Leader, days after his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed in a joint US-Israel military strike.
