What is Kavach?
Kavach is an Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system designed to prevent accidents caused by human error designed indigenously.
Through this system, automatic brakes could be applied even if a train crosses a stop signal, control speed in risky situations and help prevent any collisions. It enables a safety route for trains to move without any big accident to occur as its extra safety layer is accessible for all busy railway routes that are operated by railways on a daily basis in large numbers.
In recent years, Indian Railways have been expanding the use of Kavach across networks putting efforts to enhance railways safety and upgrade train operations.
