IMD Forecasts Hot And Humid Weather In South India: Andhra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala Alert

New Delhi: According to a report by News On Air, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast hot and humid weather conditions across several southern states, including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. The advisory highlights that coastal regions in particular are likely to experience uncomfortable weather due to a combination of high temperatures and elevated humidity levels.

As per the IMD, areas such as coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal are expected to witness these conditions in the coming days. The prevailing weather pattern is attributed to atmospheric factors that typically intensify heat and moisture levels along coastal belts, leading to discomfort for residents.

In addition to the humid conditions in the southern regions, the weather agency has also issued warnings for other parts of the country. Heatwave conditions are likely to occur at isolated locations over states such as Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan, East Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, and Vidarbha.

The IMD further noted a gradual rise in maximum temperatures over northwestern parts of India, including Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi, over the next several days. This increase is expected to range between 3 to 5 degrees Celsius, potentially intensifying heat conditions in these areas.

Meanwhile, contrasting weather conditions are predicted in parts of the northeast and eastern Himalayan region. Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, indicating varied weather patterns across the country.

The IMD continues to monitor these developments and advises people to remain cautious, particularly in regions experiencing extreme heat and humidity.
