According to police sources on Thursday, those who are actively implicated in violence during the present CJP protest may have their passports revoked.
According to the reports, the Delhi Police has started identifying those directly involved in rioting and other violent crimes during the rally using CCTV footage, video recordings, and other technical evidence.
The sources state that those determined to have actively participated in the violence may be subject to passport revocation procedures in compliance with the relevant legislative regulations.
Inspector Nand Kishor Singh was hurt, according to Delhi Police, after he was allegedly attacked by a gang of demonstrators while making his way from his parked car to his duty location close to Jantar Mantar.
There were between 4,000 and 5,000 persons present. They were shouting anti-government and anti-police slogans. Singh was cited by PTI as stating, “I thought they were students and I was going to perform my duty.”
“They used lathis, sticks, stones, and any other sharp weapons in their hands to attack me. Despite my injuries, I was able to get away. When they attacked me, I was wearing my uniform,” he continued.
According to the force, multiple police officers were hurt in the altercations between demonstrators and law enforcement. Since then, Delhi Police has initiated an inquiry to identify the suspected perpetrators of the assault on police and the damage to public property, claiming that they are being held accountable.
