Circoloco Mumbai Show Cancelled Last Minute Due To Permission Issues

Mumbai: Mumbai’s vibrant entertainment scene faced an unexpected setback as the much-anticipated Circoloco event was cancelled abruptly on April 19. According to Free Press Journal, the globally renowned Ibiza-based music brand was set to make its India debut at the Jio World Garden in BKC, promising an electrifying experience for electronic music enthusiasts. However, despite extensive preparations and the arrival of artists, the event was called off at the last moment.

Organisers released an official statement via Instagram expressing regret over the cancellation. They clarified that the decision stemmed from updated regulatory requirements and the absence of necessary permissions, even though months of planning had gone into the event. The statement emphasised their obligation to comply with government rules, acknowledging the disappointment caused to fans and stakeholders.

The lineup had generated significant excitement, featuring both international and Indian artists such as ANSWER, Jamback, Mau P, Chris Stussy, and a special back-to-back performance by Marco Carola and Michael Bibi. With all arrangements in place, the sudden announcement left attendees shocked.

Social media quickly filled with reactions from disappointed fans. Many had travelled from different cities and even abroad, only to face last-minute cancellation. Some users expressed frustration, with one remarking that “India is not ready for concerts,” while others highlighted a growing pattern of similar disruptions.

As reported by Free Press Journal, this incident follows recent cancellations of other major performances, including shows by Scorpions, raising broader concerns about the feasibility of hosting large-scale international events in the country. The development has sparked discussions about infrastructure, regulatory clarity, and preparedness for global entertainment experiences in India.
