CBI Raids Six Locations in ₹661 Crore Scam Probe; IDFC First Bank And AU Finance Bank Under Scanner

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) carried out searches at six locations as part of its probe into an alleged ₹661 crore fraud case. According to a report by Mint citing ANI, the investigation has brought IDFC First Bank and AU Finance Bank under the agency’s scrutiny. 

Multiple Locations Searched During Probe

The raids were conducted at premises linked to individuals and entities suspected of involvement in the alleged diversion of funds. Reports stated that the investigation is connected to the suspected siphoning of money associated with Haryana government departments and other institutions. 

The CBI is examining financial transactions and documents as part of the ongoing inquiry. Authorities are also looking into the alleged role of bank officials and private persons connected to the matter. 

IDFC First Bank and AU Finance Bank Under Scanner

The investigation agency is reportedly focusing on transactions linked to IDFC First Bank and AU Finance Bank. Earlier reports indicated that officials from both banks, along with government employees and private individuals, were named in the wider investigation into the alleged embezzlement and diversion of public funds. 

According to reports, the case pertains to the alleged misuse of funds connected with several Haryana government departments and Chandigarh administration entities. 

Probe Continues

The alleged scam amount has been reported in earlier investigations as ranging between ₹590 crore and ₹661 crore as authorities expanded the scope of the inquiry. The CBI has already filed chargesheets in the matter and continues to examine the role of officials, bankers and private entities linked to the case. 

Mint reported that the latest searches mark another significant development in the ongoing investigation into the high-value financial fraud case.
