Brazilian President calls PM Modi to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

New Delhi: On Thursday Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with Brazilian President Luiz Inacia Lula da Silva, in which both the leaders reaffirmed their ties to strengthen the India-Brazil Strategic Partnership.
Since their Last year meet up in Brasilia and South Africa, PM Modi and President Lula both the leaders expressed their satisfaction in various areas of bilateral cooperation which includes trade and investment, technology, defence, energy, health, agriculture, and people-to-people exchanges, indicating their deepening ties between the nations.

They also exchanged views on mutual interest in regional and global issues. They also emphasised how crucial reformed multilateralism is to tackling common issues. Following which they even stressed upon the need for stronger cooperation among developing nations to have collective thought on the Global South.
Further, PM Modi conveyed that he expects to welcome President Lula to India at an early date to further strengthen bilateral relations. India is about to host the AI Impact Summit next month.
PM Modi shared his conversation details on X and said, “Glad to speak with President Lula. We reviewed the strong momentum in the India-Brazil Strategic Partnership, which is poised to scale new heights in the year ahead. Our close cooperation is vital for advancing the shared interests of the Global South. I look forward to welcoming him to India soon.”
