Air India Frankfurt-Delhi Flight Diverted to Jaipur After Hijacking Rumour

An Air India flight from Frankfurt to Delhi was diverted to Jaipur on Wednesday following a security alert linked to a hijacking rumour.

Flight AI 2030 landed safely at Jaipur International Airport. While initial reports mentioned a possible bomb threat, an airport official clarified that the alert concerned a hijacking rumour. The official added that it was too early to comment further and that an investigation is underway.

The aircraft was moved to an isolation bay after landing. Personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force, local police and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad began checking the plane and passengers’ luggage.

The alert was reported as the aircraft approached Indian airspace. Air Traffic Control and security agencies were informed, after which the flight was diverted to Jaipur.

All passengers and crew members were safely evacuated and taken to a designated holding area in the airport terminal.

Neither the airport authorities nor the airline had issued an official statement at the time of reporting. Further details on the origin and nature of the alert are awaited as the probe continues.
