Weather Update: Gujarat to Experience Dual-Season Effect With Cold Mornings and Hot Afternoons

Ahmedabad: Winter has slowly started making its presence felt in Gujarat, with maximum temperatures hovering between 34–35°C and minimum temperatures dropping below 20°C. The monsoon has officially withdrawn from the state, as well as from Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh. Residents are beginning to notice the gradual shift toward cooler weather as the season transitions.

Monsoon Withdraws from Several States
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), conditions are now favourable for the complete withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Light rainfall is expected in Lakshadweep, while moderate to heavy showers are likely in isolated regions of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam, Meghalaya, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. The IMD has also advised fishermen to avoid venturing into the west-central and northwest Arabian Sea due to strong winds and high waves.

IMD Officially Declares Monsoon Withdrawal
The IMD has officially confirmed the end of the monsoon season across Gujarat and several other states in India. For the next seven days, Gujarat is expected to experience mostly cloudy conditions without any rainfall. In Ahmedabad, maximum temperatures will likely remain around 34°C, while minimum temperatures could hover near 23°C. No significant change in the state’s overall weather pattern is anticipated this week.

Northern Regions Record Snowfall
Meteorologists attribute the recent drop in temperature to a western disturbance affecting northern India. Hill states have begun to witness landslides and snowfall in higher altitudes. Cold winds from the north are now influencing the weather across several states, including Gujarat, where temperatures have dipped sharply in recent days. In some regions, light isolated showers are still being reported. With winter setting in, people across the state are experiencing a blend of two seasons chilly mornings followed by warm afternoons.
