Valsad: A horrific road accident claimed six lives and left 28 others injured in Virkhetra village of Kaprada taluka, Valsad district, on April 22, when a pickup van carrying wedding guests overturned after its brakes failed on a steep incline.
According to available information, the van was navigating an uphill stretch when it began rolling backward. The brakes failed at the critical moment, and with the driver losing control, the overloaded vehicle toppled over. Of the 28 injured passengers, 10 are reported to be in critical condition and are under close medical observation.
Local residents rushed to the scene immediately and launched relief efforts. All injured persons have been shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. The accident has cast a deep shadow of grief over families who had attended what was meant to be a joyous occasion.
