Two College Students Found Dead In Surat Swaminarayan Temple Bathroom; Write ‘How To Commit Suicide’ On AI Platform Before Deaths

Surat: Two young college students were found dead inside a bathroom at the Swaminarayan temple complex in Saniya village, Dindoli area of Surat, Gujarat, in a deeply disturbing incident that has sent shockwaves through the local community.

The deceased have been identified as Roshni Shirsat and Jyotsna Chaudhary. According to police, both students left their homes on the morning of March 6, 2026, to attend college but did not return by afternoon. Their worried families launched a search and alerted the police.

Traced by Mobile Location, Scooter Found at Temple

Police traced the mobile phone locations of both students using technical means. During the investigation on March 7, their scooter was found parked at the Swaminarayan temple complex in Saniya village. Officers then reviewed the temple’s CCTV footage, which showed both students walking toward the bathroom and locking the door from inside.

When there was no movement for an extended period, police broke open the bathroom door and discovered both students dead. A syringe and three bottles of suspected poison were recovered from the scene, strongly pointing toward suicide by consumption of toxic substances.

AI Platform Searched for Suicide Method

A particularly alarming detail has emerged from the investigation both students had searched the phrase “How to Commit Suicide” on an AI platform before the incident took place. The recovered syringe, medicine bottles, and the mobile phones of both students have been sent for forensic examination.

The Dindoli police have registered a case of Accidental Death (AD) and initiated a formal investigation. Police stated that the exact reasons behind this extreme step taken by both students will only become clear after the post-mortem report and forensic findings are available. The incident has cast a pall of grief and deep concern across the entire area.
