T20 World Cup Final Traffic Advisory: Roads Closed Near Narendra Modi Stadium In Ahmedabad — Alternate Routes Explained

Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad is buzzing with excitement ahead of the T20 World Cup final between India and New Zealand, scheduled to be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, March 8. With over one lakh spectators and several VIP guests expected to attend, the Ahmedabad Police and city administration have put in place stringent security measures and a comprehensive traffic management plan to ensure smooth and safe movement across the city.

Which Roads Will Remain Closed?

To prevent traffic congestion in areas surrounding the stadium during the match, the Police Commissioner has issued an official notification designating certain stretches as ‘No Entry’ zones. The road from Janpath T-Junction, passing through the Motera Stadium Main Gate, Krupa Residency, and extending up to Motera Village, will remain completely closed to all vehicular traffic from 10:00 AM on Sunday until 2:00 AM the following night.

Alternate Routes for Commuters

With key roads leading to the stadium shut, commuters have been advised to use designated alternate routes. Vehicles can travel via Tapovan Circle and Visat Junction, proceeding through Janpath towards Power House. Additionally, those coming from Prabodh Raval Circle can move through Krupa Residency and take the Bhat-Koteshwar Road or head towards Apollo Circle.

Security and Traffic Management

Extensive arrangements have been made for crowd management throughout the event. More than 800 traffic police officers and personnel will be deployed on the ground to ensure a smooth and orderly flow of vehicles. Multiple parking plots have also been arranged in the vicinity of the stadium to minimize inconvenience to spectators attending the high-profile final.
