Tragedy In Surat: Divorced Mother Kills 4-Year-Old Son Before Taking Her Own Life, Alleges Harassment By Ex-Husband

Surat: A deeply disturbing incident has come to light in the Umra area of Surat. A 26-year-old divorced mother killed her beloved 4-year-old son before ending her own life. Serious allegations are being made that mental harassment by her former husband was responsible for this tragic incident.

What is the entire case?

According to information received, 26-year-old Poonam Shah, a resident of the Umra area, was divorced. She had a 4-year-old son named Shivay, who lived with her. The woman first strangled her innocent son Shivay and then hanged herself from the same ceiling fan, ending her life.

Serious allegations by family

As news of the suicide spread, grief engulfed the family. Poonam’s family members have made serious allegations against her ex-husband Karan Shah. According to them, even after the divorce, Karan constantly harassed Poonam and subjected her to mental torture. It is believed that frustrated by this continuously increasing harassment, Poonam ultimately took this tragic step.

Police reached the spot and initiated investigation

As soon as the incident came to light, the Umra Police team reached the spot. Police have moved both bodies to the New Civil Hospital for post-mortem and collected evidence with the help of FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory). Police are now investigating based on family statements and Poonam’s mobile records to determine whether these two lives were indeed lost due to harassment by the ex-husband.
