A major fire broke out at Shri Balaji Chemical Factory located in Makhinga village of Palsana area in Surat on Wednesday morning (December 17). Due to the presence of chemicals at the facility, the flames spread rapidly and intensified within a short span of time. More than 10 fire brigade vehicles rushed to the scene to contain the blaze. Authorities have confirmed that no casualties have been reported in this incident so far.
Blaze Intensifies Due to Flammable Chemicals
According to available information, the fire started early Wednesday morning at Shri Balaji Factory. The scale of the fire was so massive that thick plumes of smoke could be seen billowing from a considerable distance. The rapid escalation of flames was attributed to the presence of highly flammable chemicals stored at the facility. Given the severity of the situation, over 10 fire tenders were deployed to the location to battle the inferno.
Fire Department Launches Rescue Operations
Upon receiving information about the incident, fire department personnel immediately reached the spot. Continuous water jets were used to prevent the fire from spreading further. As a precautionary measure, surrounding areas were also evacuated to ensure public safety. However, no reports of casualties or injuries have emerged from this incident thus far. The exact cause of the fire remains undetermined at this stage. Following successful fire suppression efforts, the fire department has initiated a detailed investigation into the matter.
