Ahmedabad : Several schools in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Kalol have received bomb threat emails, triggering a major security alert. Around 12 schools, including Zebar, Zydus, Agrasen and DAV International School, received threatening emails warning of bomb explosions. Police, fire brigade teams and bomb disposal squads rushed to the schools and began thorough inspections as a precautionary measure.
Well-known schools located in Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s Lok Sabha constituency were among those targeted. The email sent to the schools mentioned a threat to carry out bomb blasts at 1:11 pm. The message reportedly contained the phrase “Ahmedabad blast school se Sabarmati jail tak” and also included threats targeting Home Minister Amit Shah and gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
As a precautionary step, some schools in Ahmedabad that did not receive direct threats also sent students home. Afternoon shifts in several schools were cancelled to ensure the safety of students and staff while security checks continue.
