Heavy Rain Alert Hits South and North Gujarat: State Braces for 6 More Days of Showers and Storms

Gujarat Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast for light to heavy rainfall across Gujarat over the next six days, with potential downpours in several spots across the southern and northern regions. Thunderstorms and gusty winds are expected statewide until September 2, bringing moderate to heavy showers in many areas.
Yellow Alert for Heavy Rain in 12 Districts
According to the weather department, a yellow alert is in place for Thursday (August 28), warning of heavy rain in Mahisagar, Dahod, Panchmahal, Chhota Udepur, Vadodara, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, and Valsad districts.

Forecast for August 29-31
From August 29 to 31, isolated areas in Mahisagar, Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Aravalli, Navsari, Valsad, and Sabarkantha districts could see heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. In other parts of the state, light showers are likely, along with winds blowing at 30-40 km per hour.
Outlook for September 1-2
The IMD has declared a yellow alert for more than eight districts in north and south Gujarat on September 1-2. On September 1, expect heavy rain in Banaskantha, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Dahod, Navsari, and Valsad. The following day, September 2, similar conditions are forecast for Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Dahod, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, and Valsad.

Residents in affected areas are advised to stay prepared for possible disruptions, as the monsoon activity shows no signs of easing up just yet.
