Gujarat Weather Forecast July 2026 Heavy Rain: Heavy Rain Forecast for Gujarat in Early July, State Has Received Only 3% of Average Rainfall So Far

Ahmedabad: Gujarat who have been waiting a long time for rain, the meteorological department has brought welcome news. There is a strong possibility that the monsoon will become active again and pick up pace across the state from the start of July. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is likely in various parts of South Gujarat in particular between July 1 and 3.

Heavy rain forecast with strong winds in these districts

As per the Meteorological Department’s forecast, strong winds of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour could blow across the state during the first three days of July. During this period, South Gujarat and surrounding areas are likely to see heavy downpours, including the districts of Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Bharuch, Narmada, and Chhota Udepur. It is worth noting that the state has so far recorded only a negligible average of 2.88 percent of the monsoon season’s rainfall, making this upcoming spell extremely crucial.

Ahmedabad to endure five more days of heat before relief

Meanwhile, central Gujarat, including Ahmedabad, continues to reel under intense heat. On Saturday, Ahmedabad’s maximum temperature rose 4 degrees above normal to 40.8 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, the severe humidity and heat will persist in Ahmedabad for the next five days, with temperatures likely to touch 42 degrees. However, there is relief in sight for city residents rain conditions will gradually begin to set in over Ahmedabad and its surrounding areas after July 2.
