Gujarat is preparing for a severe heatwave as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for the Kachchh and Saurashtra regions. Temperatures in these areas are predicted to soar between 42°C and 43°C, with Surendranagar reaching a high of 42.8°C on Wednesday.

Rajkot is also grappling with extreme heat conditions, having already recorded 42.2°C on April 1. Local authorities have cautioned residents as the mercury may climb as high as 44°C in the coming days. Historically, Rajkot has seen its highest temperatures during April, peaking at 44.8°C in April 2017 and 44.7°C in 2019. Other notable records include:

- Do not leave children or pets unattended in parked vehicles, as internal temperatures can become dangerously high.
- Wear loose, light-colored, and breathable clothing.
- Minimize strenuous physical activities during peak heat hours.
