Ahmedabad: Gujarat has been witnessing heavy monsoon activity this year, with 14 out of the state’s 34 districts already recording more than 50 percent of their seasonal rainfall. According to the latest figures, the state’s overall average rainfall has crossed the 50 percent mark, standing at 52.89 percent. The data indicates that rainfall conditions have been particularly favourable across a large number of districts this season.
South Gujarat districts have taken the lead in this rainfall tally. Navsari district has recorded the season’s highest rainfall at 97.16 percent, bringing it remarkably close to the 100 percent mark. Valsad follows with 93.29 percent, while Surat has recorded a significant 81.12 percent. Additionally, Dang has received 71.67 percent and Tapi 62.83 percent, meaning these South Gujarat regions have already witnessed the bulk of their seasonal rainfall.

Besides South Gujarat, several areas in Central Gujarat and Saurashtra have also recorded good rainfall. Ahmedabad district has received 68.51 percent of its seasonal rainfall. Amreli has recorded 62.39 percent, Kheda 59.05 percent, Bharuch 57.86 percent, and Anand 54.58 percent, with all these districts crossing the 50 percent threshold. Among other regions, Vav-Tharad recorded 54.03 percent, Surendranagar 52.09 percent, Bhavnagar 51.83 percent, and Junagadh 51.73 percent, each surpassing half of their seasonal rainfall total.
