GSRTC Employees Get 3% DA Hike; Gujarat Government to Clear Arrears

AHMEDABAD: In a major financial boost for the employees of the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC), the state government has announced a 3% increase in their Dearness Allowance (DA). Following directives from Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Minister of State for Home and Transport Harsh Sanghavi announced that the DA for ST Corporation workers will be scaled up from the existing 55% to 58%. This decision is set to directly benefit thousands of state transport corporation employees, providing a cumulative financial benefit of over ₹24 crore.

Following the Minister’s announcement, the Ports and Transport Department at the Sachivalaya in Gandhinagar issued an official resolution implementing the change. The resolution confirmed that keeping in view the previous guidelines of the Finance Department, the 3% hike for GSRTC officers and employees will be applied retroactively with effect from July 1, 2025, bringing the total applicable DA to 58%.

According to the official circular, the revised 3% dearness allowance will be integrated into the salaries starting from July 2026. Furthermore, the accumulated arrears from the retroactive implementation will be cleared in installments starting from August 2026. Minister Harsh Sanghavi also shared updates confirming the implementation of the decision on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.
