Girnar Ropeway Service Temporarily Suspended Due to Strong Winds

Junagadh: The Girnar Ropeway, a major tourist attraction in Junagadh, has been temporarily shut down due to high wind speeds in the region. According to local reports, the ropeway service has been halted as a precautionary measure following several days of strong gusts in the Girnar hills.

The ropeway management stated that the service was suspended to ensure passenger safety amid severe wind conditions. Visitors with advance bookings have been informed via text messages regarding the suspension.

Heavy rainfall has been reported across several areas of Saurashtra and South Gujarat. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for the next six days. In response to the stormy weather and strong winds in Junagadh, authorities have decided to temporarily halt the Girnar Ropeway operations. At the Girnar summit, wind speeds have reportedly reached 50–54 km/h, prompting officials to take preventive safety measures. The service will resume once weather conditions improve and it is deemed safe for operation.
