A shocking case has occurred in Vadodara, where four foreign students were brutally beaten with bats and sticks by some villagers. The students, studying at Parul University, Vadodara, had gone to visit Limda village, as the college had a holiday on the account of Dhuleti on 14th March.
Apparently, the students were smoking cigarettes while having their footwear on at a place of worship. When some villagers intervened and told them not to do so, it resulted in a scuffle. One of the students fainted at the spot owing to the injuries due to the clash. All injured have been admitted at the Parul Sevashram hospital.
As the video of the incident went viral, Vaghodia police has registered a case against 10 attackers, while arresting 7, of which 2 are minors. Police is further investigating the matter.
The students live in the college hostel. Out of the four, Suphac Kangvantrattana, who is a second-year BCA student, hails from Thailand. Odwa Andrew Abbas Andre Watari, a resident of South Sudan, is a first-year petroleum engineering student. Tange Evenilson Thomal, from Mozambique, is a first-year petroleum engineering student and Mohammed Alikhalif Khalif Mohammed is from the UK and is a cardiology student.

The villagers claim that the students have engaged in such direspective behaviour a few times in the past as well. Thus, to end this nuisance, they decided to take the matter in their own hands.
An FIR has been filed by the university’s head rector Ashusinh Rajput alias Ashokbhai against the attackers. PSI A.J. Patel of the Vaghodia police station rushed at the hospital with staff. The police is conducting investigations; however, the 2 minors have been released.
