2 Killed, 13 Injured After Private Bus Drives on Wrong Side and Collides Head-On With Truck on Mehsana-Rajasthan Highway

Mehsana, May 12: A horrific road accident on the Mehsana-Rajasthan Highway in the early hours of Tuesday claimed two lives and left 13 passengers injured after a private bus driver flouted traffic rules and drove on the wrong side of the road, colliding head-on with an oncoming truck.
The bus, travelling towards Ahmedabad, was being driven at high speed on the wrong side when it struck the truck in a direct frontal impact. The force of the collision was severe enough to completely destroy the front sections of both vehicles. Screams of passengers echoed across the highway in the immediate aftermath of the crash.
Local residents and bystanders rushed to the spot to assist with rescue operations. Two people died at the scene. The remaining 13 injured passengers sustained injuries of varying degrees.
All injured were transported via 108 ambulances to Mehsana Civil Hospital and nearby private hospitals. Doctors said the condition of some of the injured is critical.
The accident triggered a lengthy traffic jam on the highway. Local police reached the scene, sent the bodies for post-mortem examination, and have launched an investigation into the incident.
